Detailed information

Product detailed description

Caffeine is extracted from freshly peeled, still green coffee and the removal of caffeine is done in a water bath at high pressure. Only after the caffeine has been removed are the coffee beans dried and roasted. You will never find more caffeine than 1% in a cup of this coffee. Despite being decaffeinated, Lavazza DEK is a rich, creamy espresso.

Where does coffee come from?

Brazil. This country ranks among the largest coffee-growing countries in the world and is called the king of the coffee market. Up to 400 million coffee trees are grown here, and thus a large number of varieties. The coffee was grown in the state of Minas Gerais, which is one of the most important coffee growing areas in Brazil and is at an altitude of around 1100 meters above sea level. Coffee beans from Brazil are referred to as "Brazils" on the world market. Most Brazilian coffees are characterized by a rich foam and unusual bittersweet and chocolate flavors. Colombia . The ideal altitude and unique soil conditions here guarantee top-quality coffee. Harvesting takes place throughout the year due to very different microclimatic conditions. The best Colombian coffee originates in the higher regions (up to 2000 meters above sea level) near the equator in rich volcanic soil. Major coffee growing areas include Medellin, Armenia and Manizales. About 12% of the world's coffee production grows in Colombia, so this country ranks second after Brazil. Coffee from Colombia is of high quality and is processed using the wet method. At the same time, it belongs to one of the highest quality solo types on our market.

Arabica

Arabica is a fragile shrub or tree that is susceptible to parasites. It is for this reason that it is grown at higher altitudes, especially in mountainous areas at an altitude of up to 2000 meters. Cultivation on volcanic soil is common, where frost rarely occurs and, thanks to lower humidity, the widespread occurrence of pests can be prevented. Arabica is of high quality, contains less caffeine and, in addition, offers us a wide range of delicate tastes and aromas. The beans are slightly larger than robusta and are sensitive to temperature during roasting.
